If you have been following me on Facebook or Instagram, you may have gathered that we have been out of town. We enjoyed an 11-day road trip through much of the Southwest, including the Grand Canyon and other spectacular sights. It was a GREAT trip; I will try to share more about it in another post :) Just before we left, I finished another slipcover project. This one was a 2.0 of a project I did a few months back. My client wanted to try a different look on her couch. So, here is the original Before...
... and this is how it looked after we added new down envelopes to the seat cushions and made a new slipcover (details here)...
So, this time around, we did a dropcloth version of the slipcover...
Lighter and brighter! My client chose 8oz dropcloth from Sherwin Williams; they washed up beautifully soft, but seemed to have more variation in texture than the Lowes ones I have used more often. We did a tall skirt again, and top-stitched the seams.
From the front - soft and inviting. And look at that gorgeous dough bowl! My client has a great eye for mixing antique and vintage pieces in a way that is fresh and comfortable.
Perfect for summer (and finished just in time) :)
Have you done any projects with dropcloth lately?
