Process
There is a non-refundable $50 deposit to reserve a spot on my wait list ($100 if the estimated labor cost is $500 or greater). This will be deducted from your invoice at the completion of your project. I will work through wait list projects in the order that my clients have their fabric ready. So, as soon as you are ready with your fabric, please let me know and I will get you scheduled! If, after an extended period of time I have not heard from you and/or you have not responded to contact from me, your deposit will be forfeited and a new deposit will be required to reserve another spot on my wait list (I tend to be generous with this since I know life gets crazy sometimes, so I will make multiple attempts to contact you over several weeks). This will allow me to work through the list more efficiently and get to all your fabulous projects more quickly!
I generally need the furniture in my studio (Denton, TX) to complete the project. For large items, pin-fitting on-site is available locally for an additional charge.
About fabric: there are a lot of fabric options for slipcovers! A big consideration is if you want the finished slipcover to be washable. Generally (washable or not), the higher the cotton content of the fabric, the better . 8-12oz. denim, twill, and duck cloth work well. Linens are also a great choice. I have a selection of basic fabrics in neutral colors that I can order in or I am happy to explore additional options with you.
P.S.: Sunbrella and similar outdoor fabrics can be used for slipcovers, but personally, I don't have a great relationship with those fabrics, so I prefer not to use them - just an fyi if you are considering them :)
